Sergey Bratkov (born 1960 in Kharkiv, Ukraine; based in Berlin) lives and works in Europe since 2022. Bratkov works with photography, video, painting, sculpture, installation, performance and collages. From 1988 to 1993 he was a member of the group of artists Litera A as a painter. In 1993 he turned his loft studio into an art gallery (The Up/ Down Gallery), which existed until 1997. This was the first contemporary art gallery in Kharkiv (UA). Since 2000 he has lived and worked in Moscow (RU). For 12 years he was the head of the Photography, Sculpture, Video class at the Rodchenko School of Multimedia. From his class came many famous artists, including from Ukraine.
