Kateryna Lysovenko

Kateryna Lysovenko (born 1989 in Odesa, Ukraine; based in Vienna) is an artist who works in monumental painting, painting, drawing, and text. Lysovenko is engaged in the study of the relationship between ideology and painting, the production of the image of the victim in politics and art, from antiquity to the present day. Lysovenko looks at painting as a language that can be instrumentalised or liberated. Lysovenko's works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Museum de Fundatie in the Netherlands Albertinum in Dresden, the Ludwig Museum in Hungary, the Museum Ephraim-Palais in Germany, the Museum de Fundatie in the Netherlands, and the Galeria Arsenal in Poland. Major art publications like ArtDaily, e-flux, and Blok Magazine have highlighted and reviewed her pieces.
