Karina Synytsia

Karina Synytsia (born 1999 in Sievierodonetsk, Ukraine; based in Kyiv) is a contemporary Ukrainian artist who focuses on themes of human emotion, memory, and the effects of war through her evocative paintings and collages. Her practice is based on reflecting human feelings, including loneliness and alienation. In her works, Karina recreates these states, placing them in constructed images consisting of fragments of her own memories and the emptiness of half-ruined architectural mirages. In this way, she builds a comfortable fictional world in which there may be emotions of a typical young man of her generation. Synytsia's exhibitions include "Resistance" in the Baroque Gallery App, Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kyiv, ART COMPENSA International Art Fair auction in Vilnius, and "Another Day" in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
